The market is now open Saturdays from 9AM-12PM  in the Plaza room inside of the Velvet Mill. The market is a means to provide fresh food to our community.

Join us every first & last Friday of each month at 7:30 PM at The Velvet Mill in Stonington, CT for an exciting and dynamic dance lesson! Every 2 weeks, a different type of dance will be taught over those two consecutive weeks, led by experienced and highly-rated instructors. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a beginner, you’ll enjoy learning new moves and techniques in a fun, supportive environment. Anyone who participates in this lesson will be welcomed to stay on for “Friday Evening Open Dance” as well!

Before or after your lesson, make sure to explore the vibrant selection of restaurants and bars at The Velvet Mill, where you can grab a delicious bite or a refreshing drink with friends. It’s the perfect way to start your weekend—dancing, dining, and socializing all in one place!

Rum Tropic Distillery at The Velvet Mill presents, Rum Illumination: A Sensory Experience. Join us for this unique experience where lasers, lighting, and special effects accompany a tasting of the rum and vodka products we make here at The Velvet Mill.

What’s Included: The one hour experience features a 17 minute presentation that shows you a history of rum and how we make rum here at The Velvet Mill. The presentation is synchronized to lasers, lighting, holograms and special effects to provide a heightened sensory experience where you will see, hear, and feel the history and the magic of rum making. We will provide a rum or vodka cocktail to each guest to sip while watching the presentation as well as small bite artisan snacks, and a sampling of our rum and vodka products as we talk about each one for a full scent and taste sensory experience. The whole experience takes place in the decorated venue of our tropical tasting area. After the experience ends, feel free to explore the shops and restaurants at The Velvet Mill. More information: You must be 21 years of age or over to participate in the experience. Pets are not allowed (service animals only).

Tickets are sold in advance but can be purchased on site on the day of the event if available. The experience is not recommended for those that are sensitive to bright flashing lights or loud sounds and those that have a respiratory sensitivity to haze effects. Refunds will be given on a case-by-case basis.
